Taxicab music

Our cab driver from Dulles Airport to Greenbelt was delighted that we let him listen to his music of choice, and we were delighted to listen to it.  Thus we discovered Punjabi musician/producer Sangtar, who produced the Punjabi Virsa 2006 show in Toronto featuring singers Kamal Heer (shown here) and Manmohan Wari.

Interestingly (but not surprisingly), this rock-infused Punjabi music sounds like rock musicians experimenting with Middle Eastern music that I listened to in the 80s, such as Eric Random:
