I have to say that Myles and his family grew up just down the road from me. My sister would go play guitar with Allan (the older brother) in the garage. Myles was too young. Lol. I never really hung out with them, but they only lived two houses over from us. Who'd a thunk??
Wow! At the height of my April Wine fandom (1981) my family vacationed in Nova Scotia. On our way there we passed through Woodstock, New Brunswick, which I had read was Myles's hometown. And as we were driving, we passed a mailbox that said "Goodwyn" on it. Was that his house?! I never knew for sure, but it was exciting at the time to have been so close (maybe) to one of my idols' roots.
Burl: You poor man. No, that wasn't the proper house in New Brunswick. In fact, you spent your vacation in our province! Lol. You were even closer than you thought! But he probably wouldn't have been here.....stardom and all, you know. Lol. So funny. He plays in some of the clubs around here now, but I don't know what else he does. He's not around much anymore. Probably has a family some place in Canada. But you were THIS CLOSE to his home....you just picked the wrong province. Lol. Awwwwwwww. That *was* in 1981. Are you over it now? *smile*
D'oh! Well, I'll live. And as a matter of fact, April Wine starts a new tour this week in BC, hitting Nova Scotia the second week of April. I could catch an Ontario show if I make it an overnight trip... I haven't seen them for 27 years, should I try to relive those days or just be content with memories? Must mull that over...
